The role of JBL's Human Resource department is essentially that of 'leadership development'. Besides being an 'employee advocate' and a 'change and transformation counselor', its HR department is constantly:

1. Ensuring that all business and support units have optimum quantity and quality of human resources capable to compete and grow in all areas of its diversified business activities.

2. Striving to provide opportunities for training and development for its employees, facilitating their personal and professional growth.

3. Working in complete harmony with its employees to understand their hopes and aspirations and facilitate them in fulfilling them through employee friendly policies.

4. Practically demonstrating a sincere commitment to the self-respect and dignity of its employees. This, in turn, motivates them to achieve the highest levels of performance with dedication and loyalty.

In a nutshell, JBL does not measure the overall effectiveness of Human Resource Management by administrative efficiency alone. It measures HR success by the ability to influence the line management in operating with a set of values and beliefs compatible with its Corporate Vision. HR is not looked at as a 'staff or support specialist' but as a 'business partner' with the multi-disciplinary Strategic Business Units of the Group.
